Bus
Buses are a convenient supplement for reaching various parts of the city and suburban areas. Most lines cost between 2-5 CNY. Payment can be made by cash/coin, transportation card, or QR codes of Alipay/WeChat Pay. It is recommended to prepare some small change in cash/coin (CNY) when not applicable for using mobile payments.
Taxi / Ride-hailing
Designated taxi stands are available at major transport hubs, commercial districts, and scenic spots in Nanjing. You can also hail a taxi on the street. The starting fare is 11 CNY for the first 3 kilometers, with additional charges based on distance. It is recommended to prepare some cash (CNY) when not applicable for using mobile payments.
Ride-hailing services are also prevalent. If you are familiar with such apps, you can book a car through platforms like ‘DiDi – Ride Hailing App’.
It is recommended to choose officially licensed taxis or officially certified ride-hailing vehicles to ensure travel safety and avoid extra charges.*
